A new digital video library from DMC and funded by DG Unlimited, as part of their Regional Arts Fund.

Featuring 30 short videos presented by contemporary music industry practitioners, curating an insightful series of e-learning knowledge. Aiming to inspire and develop independent creative skillsets in young people, offering top tips on a range of topics and discuss concepts and topical issues within several different fields in the music and creative industries. 

We want to educate and inspire young local music makers and creatives both within the region and beyond and help them to understand complex and often hard to access areas of the music industry.

DRIPFEED launched in June 2021 and updates with a new video release every week. The videos feature a broad board of national music industry figures that can offer their best advice within their field. Videos will cover topics such as music photography and videography, DIY shows, staying creative in a rural area, music publishing, song writing tips and the importance of lyrics. The video library is part of DMC’s shift from an annual conference to year-round programming and support activity.

Dumfries Music Conference returned in 2020 for the eighth annual conference and the first ever digital conference, featuring film, discussion, workshops, Q&As and live music - all hosted on digital platforms. Owing to the circumstances presented by COVID-19, Dumfries Music Conference 2020 was reimagined as a digital event, where attendees participated online.

With leading speakers discussing the most important topics in music running alongside engaging online workshops, Dumfries Music Conference 2020 was an exciting experience for the Dumfries & Galloway music scene, which everyone was able to enjoy from the sanctuary of their own homes.
